Ranked as one of most common Pervasive Developmental Disorder for young children, Asperger is also affecting many adults. Asperger syndrome in adults allows a mind that works differently than normal people, especially in the way that they process information. These people focus on details and excel in a specialized field. Asperger symptoms can be stabilized as time passes as well as if the adult pursues opportunities to improve their skills and social behaviors.

The symptoms for Asperger includeproblems in social interactions, such as hard to maintain friendships and the absence of the need to work with others. There are also problems in communication, including the inability to read between the lines and problems in realizing jokes.

Such labeling is unfair since people having aspergers does not have the intent to carry on with this inappropriate behavior. Adults with Asperger's syndrome are just incapable of seeing things from another person's view.

Adults with Asperger syndrome often have the ability to work in regular and professional jobs. Their knowledge on specific subjects and their talent in looking for details help them to become successful in their field, usually related to science. In pursuing their career goals, people with Asperger develop interest and obsessive focus on the subject, making them experts in their field of work.

The career choice common in Asperger adults tends to be engineering, because they are mostly fascinated by technology. Asperger syndrome are more common in men than in women, another explanation why there are a high percentage of people with Asperger's Syndrome in the profession of engineering.
